The Library, Arts & History Department is looking to hire several part-time, non-benefited Technical Assistants to operate technical equipment, provide expertise and assistance with set up and strike for Arts & History division programs, including supporting the 2026 Summer Concert Series. This role is responsible for operating lighting, sound and audiovisual equipment, enforcing rules and policies, supporting emergency protocols, ensuring safe use of facilities and offering assistance to the Arts & History division team as required.
We are looking to hire individuals to primarily support Summer Concerts, which include 7 individual concerts every Wednesday between June 10 - July 29, except Wednesday, July 1. Each shift would be approximately 8 to 10 hours with additional training hours scheduled prior to the first concert. Ongoing shifts after Summer are available but vary.
Essential Required Tasks/Examples Of Duties
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: 1 year experience required in running sound & lighting systems
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.

Essential Required Tasks/Examples Of Duties
- Under the supervision of the Lead Events Technician, operate technical equipment, provide technical expertise and general assistance for Arts & History division events, programs and activities, including rental events.
- Assist with technical set up and strike for various indoor and outdoor events and venues, including the Broomfield Auditorium, SL75 mobile stage and other locations
- Operate lighting, sound and other audiovisual equipment during events, including designing and running programs for various user groups and artists, in coordination with Lead Events Technician and other Events Technical Assistants
- Assist the Lead Events Technician with design, implementation, transportation, maintenance and evaluation of technical requirements for live events
- In coordination with Lead Events Technician, enforce all rules and policies of programs and facilities. Receive training in and support implementation of emergency protocols and procedures for events and venues.
- Provides positive, friendly guest service with renters and users of the Auditorium
- Support appropriate and safe use of facilities and equipment, indoor and outdoor.
- May support volunteers, interns and temporary staff as needed.
- Provides support to the full Arts & History division team as necessary.
- Possess the ability to work independently.

- Regular, predictable attendance required
- Weekday, evening, and weekend hours required
- Schedule is set several months in advance
- Physical Requirements
- Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects).
- Required to move about office/facilities
- Required to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Required to communicate and/or detect sounds
- Required to sit, kneel, or crawl
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
- Tasks may require use of a computer for several hours.
- Work environment is often low light. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, color vision, and peripheral vision.

- The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud.
