Looking for a courtroom-focused litigation position where you can make an immediate impact? The City and Borough of Juneau Law Department is seeking an attorney to join its criminal prosecution team.
What You’ll Do. The Assistant Attorney I/II is primarily dedicated to criminal prosecution, handling misdemeanor offenses including driving under the influence, larceny, assault, code enforcement, and other municipal crimes. From arraignments through jury trials, this position manages an independent caseload alongside another Assistant Attorney, appears regularly in court, and works closely with the Juneau Police Department and other justice partners to promote public safety.
Who We’re Looking For. We are looking for an attorney who is committed to public service, demonstrates sound judgment and high ethical standards, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, eager to learn local municipal and Alaska law, and comfortable in a fast-paced, paperless environment. Strong legal research, decision-making, and case management skills are essential.
