Job Summary
This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all payments for assigned payers are posted in a timely manner. The employee will coordinate with both the manager and other posting staff to ensure end-of-month deadlines are met.
The supervisor is responsible for monitoring requests for, and following up on, information needed to post specific items, such as facility or patient credit card payments. The role includes working assigned workflows and assisting with posting as needed, supporting productivity documentation, and trending and reporting posting issues.
The individual must complete all responsibilities within established deadlines, which may require flexibility in his or her work schedule.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assigned workflows and directives which includes but not limited to:
- Supervises work performance according to organizational/departmental procedures
- Document and track posting productivity & QA Audits
- Complete staff performance and compliance audits according to department procedures
- Monitor requested information needed for posting- ensure follow up is done
- Facilitate Communication with posters on additional posting help is needed
- Add appropriate Tags needed for additional follow up from other departments
- Work any assigned workflows
- Ensure all posting department deadlines are met
- Track and report posting trends: Coordinate with staff on posting trends
- Contact insurance company when required for posting information
- Update or create payer posting process as needed with changes or as requested
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality in all activities
- Notify manager of any on-going problems or noted areas of concern
- Any other duties assigned by management
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 3 or more years of medical insurance posting experience
- Prior supervisor experience
- Must have critical thinking
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent communication
- Ability to read and interpret payer Explanation of Benefits [EOB] required
- Excel experience
- Knowledge of proper time management
- Attention to Detail is a must
