What You'll Do
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will:
- Provide engaging therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and daily living skills.
- Carry out individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Track patient progress and communicate updates or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques, home exercise programs, and safety strategies to support continued success outside of therapy.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of treatments, progress, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
- Help create a safe, positive, and encouraging therapy environment where patients can thrive.
What We're Looking For
- Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and rehabilitation principles.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, acute care, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
- Inpatient and outpatient therapy experience is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for helping others.
