General Description
The Digital Content Coordinator manages the County’s digital content for website, social media platforms and any other applicable digital platforms. Creates, coordinates, and manages digital content to establish and implement a consistent brand identity.
The primary schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM although, will be required to flex time due to events.

Essential Functions
- Manages and creates content for social media channels
- Creates social media graphics, flyers, and reels
- Takes photos at County meetings and events to post on social media
- Works across platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn
- Interacts with social media users, representing Citrus County in a helpful, professional manner
- Monitors channels, implementing social media management tools and analytics to promote best practices
- Trains other staff members on social media best practices for engagement and accessibility
- Improves County visual identity and branding
- Develops design templates for business cards, presentations, stationary, flyers, reports, and more
- Assists in developing county brand guidelines
- Implements greater consistency across marketing assets
- Helps brainstorm ideas for campaigns, branding, videos, and graphics
- Serves as webmaster for Citrus County’s main website
- Works with County departments to update content for user-friendliness and compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA)
- Collaborates with external vendor partner(s) to ensure the main website works optimally
- Utilizes analytics to recommend changes that improve user experience, search results, copy, and accessibility
- Delivers and helps develop training on website CMS use and web writing best practices
- Assists with document remediation using Commonlook PDF
- Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws
- Performs other duties as required
Education, Training, and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field OR
- Four (4) years experience in digital communications, marketing, public information, or a related field OR
- A comparable amount of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge and skill in the application of social media platforms, particularly in using social media as a communication platform.
- Working knowledge of website content management, analytics, and best practices and standards.
- Strong writing abilities (experience writing for social media and websites preferred)
- Experience in graphic design (Canva and Adobe Illustrator preferred).
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing priorities.
- Knowledge of or interest in AV technology.
- Ability to travel locally, as needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear, confident manner using proper grammar.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently.
- Must have strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, multi-task and independently execute projects/tasks within specific deadlines while maintaining flexibility.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Ability to work after normal business hours (may include nights and/or weekends).
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Valid Florida Driver License or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
- IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
- IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
- Requires sitting most of the day.
