Position Summary
Citrus Cardiology Consultants, PLLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Device Technician to join our growing team in Ocala, Florida. The Device Technician will be responsible for the interrogation, programming, and monitoring of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and loop recorders. This role is vital in ensuring accurate data collection, patient education, and timely reporting to support the practice’s mission of delivering exceptional cardiovascular care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform in-office and remote monitoring of cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders.
Interrogate, program, and troubleshoot device functionality following physician protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Document device checks, test results, and clinical observations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist providers in interpreting device data and generating reports for patient care decisions.
Coordinate and monitor remote transmissions, notifying physicians of any urgent or abnormal findings.
Provide patient education regarding device functionality, care, and home monitoring systems.
Maintain strong working knowledge of various device manufacturers, software updates, and monitoring systems.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and clinical safety protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent healthcare education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) or equivalent certification preferred, or eligibility to obtain within one year of hire.
Previous experience in cardiac device management or allied health role preferred (nursing, cardiovascular technology, biomedical engineering, etc.).
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot device-related issues.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
Proficiency with EMR systems and device programmer software.
Schedule and Work Environment
Full-time position, Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility for extended hours based on patient needs.
Clinical, patient-facing environment with routine use of device programmers, computers, and diagnostic systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
