Job Description -
Our spring internship allows one to explore their career preferences in a real-world setting. Accounting interns are responsible for routine assignments based on their area of focus, and report to Senior Accountants and Job Managers. The value of the busy season internship includes gaining experience during a crucial part of the year, the opportunity to work on a variety of clients and work, and so much more!
Each intern receives a mentor where they can ask questions and learn more about the role, as well as a week of training with videos targeting the healthcare practice and the overall firm. It runs from January to April, and interns are expected to work a minimum of 35 hours a week. There’s also a requirement to take the school semester off to be able to successfully keep up with learning opportunities and workload.

- How to interact with clients and network with Citrin Cooperman accounting professionals
- How to assist with and prepare a variety of cost reports, financial statements and/or tax returns (depending on department)
- How to analyze and review financial data for a variety of industries and situations
- A working knowledge of accounting research, software, and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or master's degree in accounting (or pursuing currently)
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or work experience
- Demonstrated academic success
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- The ability to interact with clients and employees of all levels of the Firm
