Camp Loyaltown is a large residential summer camp for developmentally disabled children and adults. Our Campers range in age from 6 years to 80 plus years old; most of the campers are between 10 years old– and 60 years old.
The Assistant Head Chef is responsible for completing whatever meal-related tasks are delegated to them by the Executive Chef. In addition to meal preparation & cleaning up tasks, the Assistant Chef is responsible for the supervision of and working with the Kitchen Staff during mealtimes.
In this role, you will also:
- Practice and promote the agency’s mission statements in every interaction through family and community engagement: Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
- Adhere to all regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements.
- Report to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect.
- Work with Executive Chef in managing staff.
- Prepare 3 meals a day and clean up kitchen & surrounding areas.
- Periodic count of utensils, dishes, cups, pitchers etc.
- Instruct and direct kitchen staff.
- Cover for Executive Chef on their day off.
We require:
- Food handling safety certificate (SafeServ)
- Previous kitchen experience, including prep work and maintenance
- Ethical Practice
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs
