What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technologist Student position at Citizens Memorial?
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking a Radiologic Technology Student to join our Radiology Department at our main hospital located in Bolivar, Missouri. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities, and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!
About the department: Utilizing the newest state-of-the-art equipment and technologies, the Radiology Department provides 24/7 diagnostic imaging services to meet the needs of a wide variety of patients at both the hospital and Outpatient Imaging Center. Examinations are performed on both a scheduled and emergent basis and may include diagnostic radiology, mammography, vascular and echocardiography, ultrasound, PET and CT, and MRI.
A typical day will include: Performing routine and specialized x-ray examinations in both the hospital and Outpatient Imaging Center.
- Prepares patients for examinations, positioning and / or immobilizing patient in accordance with types of procedures to be administered, considering the safety, physical, and psychological needs of the patient
- Performs examination, adjusting control panel settings, such as voltage, amperage, and time of exposure, as necessary
- Processes data assuring optimal imaging has been achieved prior to discharge of the patient, re-imaging as necessary
- Assists Radiologist and medical staff as required
This position is: PRN filling in approximately 4 hours every two weeks
Job Requirements:
- Education: Must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Experience: No prior experience required
- Skills: Verbal and non-verbal communication, examination skills, patient safety
- Licensure/Certification: N/A
- Physical: Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and walk the majority of the time; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. infrequently and 20-25 lbs. frequently
