JOB SUMMARY
Protects life and property of all persons on hospital premises. Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and violent acts. Secures, unlocks and protects hospital buildings and property. Responds to security needs of hospital personnel, patients and visitors.

- Investigates incidents and creates report (EF)
- Performs lost and found duties (EF)
- Transports deceased patients (EF)
- Monitors disturbances, thefts, vandalism and assaults (EF)
- Assists with combative patients (EF)
- Utilizes de-escalation techniques with combative patients and visitors (EF)
Hospital:
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates degree or higher in related field
EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Prior experience in security and/or law enforcement or military
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required: Must have effective communication skills and report writing skills
Preferred: Knowledge of computers and video surveillance systems
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Required: Valid driver’s license and Commissioned Peace Officer License
Preferred: Private Security Officer License and/or IAHSS Certification
