What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse position at Citizens for Citizens?
· Participate in the health screening and intake process for all children in/or entering the program.
· Participate in planning, assessing and identifying the medical needs of the program. Integrate health education into the classrooms and other program activities.
· Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team at center conferences and attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
· Submit all required reports and control sheets to the Health & Nutrition Coordinator and prepare individual health plans on children when necessary.
· Give First Aid if a child is ill or injured when qualified staff is not available.
· Advise parents of child's progress regarding weight and height.
· Participate in the preparations, implementations and recording of information from physical examinations, hearing, vision and dental screenings, and TB tests for children, staff members and volunteers.
· Review children's medical and immunization records before entering into the program and help parents complete such records.
· Transfer pertinent information to school health records before the child enters the public school system if requested.
· Participate in evaluation meetings with the public school personnel.
· Input medical information when received from parent into computer system.
