Job Overview
Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center, a long term care nursing home in Havre de Grace (Harford County) is in search of a Full-Time Environmental Services Associate. The EVS Associate will work 40 hours/week (FT) including every other weekend 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Summary

The Environmental Services position is responsible for performing housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness of the facility.

Responsibilities

· Performs cleaning procedures and observes waste disposal procedures.

· Cleans and disinfects resident and guest care areas, rooms and administrative areas.

· Responsible for dust and wet mopping. Sweeps and vacuums.

· Responsible for cleaning up spills and trash. Empties trash cans.

· Dispenses soap, paper products and other EVS janitorial supplies and orders supplies weekly.

· Ensures the Janitor Closet is clean and orderly.

· Cleans equipment as needed.

· Maintains proper care and use of equipment and supplies in accordance with facility policy. Reports any observed area or equipment in poor repair to Supervisor.

· Follows facility safety program.

· Ensures resident and guests rights are protected and ensures they are free from abuse and neglect.

· Adheres to infection control practices.

· Attends In-Service training to maintain and improve competencies.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

One year housekeeping experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Promotes positive image of our facility to residents, guests, families and the community.

· Protects the privacy of residents, guests and employees.

· Follows oral and written instructions.

· Projects good judgment and performs all duties satisfactorily while prioritizing projects as assigned.

· Exhibits excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, push, pull, balance, reach, grasp, kneel, climb and lift up to 35 pounds. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards.
