What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Officer position at Citizens Bank?
We are seeking a dedicated and community-oriented Loan Officer at our Butler branch. Developing and managing a loan portfolio of commercial and consumer loan and deposit customers of the Bank will be the primary responsibility of this position. As a member of the bank in the local community, this individual will also be responsible for overseeing daily lending operations, loan/deposit growth, loan portfolio performance and other objectives as assigned by the Branch President.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops and manages a loan portfolio; interviews loan applicants, collects and analyzes information which reflects the current credit worthiness of customers and the current merits of existing loans. Information may be obtained in a variety of methods, including inspection of the applicant’s business and/or collateral, review financial reports, personal interview, etc.
2. Establishes and negotiates, where necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral.
3. Approves loans up to the lending limit and handles complex loans of the Bank.
4. Manages the loan origination and closing process by coordinating with loan administration for the documentation and servicing of loans.
5. Responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of all loan documentation.
6. Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect past due loans.
7. Manages all daily branch operations and branch employees, ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
8. Promotes the Bank’s image as a good corporate citizen. Highly encouraged to participate in various school and community events within the Garnett community.
9. May perform related duties as assigned by the Branch President.
