Position: NEW ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm

Reports to: Branch Operations Officer

Description:

New Accounts personnel are direct customer service positions responsible for providing our customers with an exceptional banking experience. New Accounts personnel are responsible for a variety of tasks including providing excellent customer service, developing banking and customer relationships, opening new accounts and recommending other banking services based on customer need. These individuals exhibit integrity and build trust while providing efficient and accurate customer service with a consistent focus on confidentiality.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create a connection and develop rapport with customers to provide outstanding, personalized service.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls quickly in a professional manner, use active listening skills to determine need of caller.
  • Build customer relationships through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of current bank products and services, which includes, but is not limited to, personal and business checking and savings accounts, cash management, HSAs, IRAs, merchant services, online and mobile banking, safe deposit boxes and remote deposit capture (RDC).
  • Open and close all account types and services following procedural guidelines. Ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Complete regular and timely account maintenance which may include address changes, account updates, signer authorities, sweeps and automatic funds transfers.
  • Respond to account-related customer requests by first understanding what is being requested followed by responding appropriately based on Bank guidelines. Resolve in a positive and timely manner.
  • Assist customers with stop payments, check orders, wire transfers, online banking, telephone transfers and general questions.
  • Attend monthly meetings at our Main office in Corvallis, unless otherwise stated.
  • Assist customers with how to utilize Bank products and services
  • Provide customers with ongoing product and service support, which may include demonstrations and minor training.
  • Respond timely to customer Online Banking messages/alerts.
  • May perform Teller functions as needed.
  • In depth understanding of Bank and position workflow and ability to prioritize daily duties.
  • Identify and recommend relevant banking services and products to our customers.
  • Maintain the safety, integrity, and confidentiality of customer information.
  • Help maintain a safe and secure work environment by displaying responsiveness to lobby traffic and ensuring each customer is acknowledged in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Build, develop, and maintain partnerships with teammates and other departments to maximize effectiveness and to best serve our customers.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Responsible for completing all training courses assigned.
  • Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other banking regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year customer service experience and phone etiquette
  • Experience operating Windows based PC.
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with general office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, 10-key, filing systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic addition and subtraction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Banking experience.
  • Cash handling and balancing experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to clearly speak, hear, see, and communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand, and arm movements.
    Ability to regularly kneel, reach, bend, push, pull, carry up to 50 pounds.
