Description
The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations relating to the boarding and on-going servicing of commercial and consumer loans. They are responsible for the accuracy, consistency and overall integrity of loan related data entered to the core system. This role acts as a control point to ensure that loans are properly executed prior to boarding.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete day-to-day work queues to ensure that departmental service level expectations are met.
- Knowledge of all loan payment types and payment calculation methods. Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving the same.
- Comprehension of consumer regulations associated with loan servicing
- Prepare short term maturity date extensions and board to the core.
- Review loan activity reports and process corrections, as needed. Process and research general ledger entries; reconcile and certify general ledger loan accounts in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Act as a control point for loan servicing activities, including but not limited to:
- Loan boarding and functions such as disbursement of funds/fees, verify coding, FASB, etc.
- File UCC filings via interface and order property tax Servicing
- Perform check-back of all processing work
- Loan payment application and processing including wires
- Set up AFT, EFT and ACH payment processing requests
- Process loan draws/advances and transfers
- Escrow/reserve account disbursements, maintenance and annual analysis
- Prepare loan payoff quotes and process incoming loan payoffs
- Post-closing loan maintenance (i.e. risk ratings, coding, etc.)
- Loan participation settlements and servicing
- Perform various certifications assigned to the Loan Operations team
- Prepare and submit SBA 1502 report.
- Resolution of credit reporting disputes via E-Oscar.
- Perform tickler maintenance for financial reporting and covenant monitoring
- Review delinquent property tax reports and set ticklers for payment follow-up
- Prepare CRA data reports.
- Assist with internal and external customer service calls and requests for loan information
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent – required.
- Loan servicing or equivalent experience preferred
- Proficiency in Jack Henry Core Systems, Laser Pro loan documentation, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly and gain working knowledge of loan systems and software applications.
- Provides an exceptional level of quality service for internal/external customers; responds to customers' needs, questions, and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
- Excellent listening, verbal, written and telephone etiquette business communication skills, with the ability to communicate outstanding/follow up issues over the phone, in person and via email; effective presentation skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
- Ability to understand and apply principles, procedures, compliance requirements, federal/state regulations, and policies related to assigned area, as well as the Bank’s policies, procedures, products, and services.
- Strong organizational, time management, data review and processing skills; with the ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly focus on key issues and make decisions under pressure of time constraints and/or competing deadlines with minimal direction and oversight.
- Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information required.
Working Conditions
- Climate controlled office environment.
- May be exposed to outside climate conditions and/or required to wear protective devises during site and property visits/inspections.
- Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions, and frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions during the day.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule which may require evening work.
Physical Requirements
- Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner, facsimile, which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.
- Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, climbing, kneeling or crouching to file materials and/or site/property inspections.
- Occasional lifting 10 - 20 lbs. (files, boxes).

Salary : $22 - $34
