Role Description This full-time hybrid Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in Edmond, OK, with flexibility for some work from home. The Mortgage Loan Officer will guide applicants through the mortgage loan process, including initial consultations, application intake, documentation review, and coordination with underwriting and closing teams. Daily responsibilities include evaluating borrower financial information, recommending appropriate mortgage products, ensuring compliance with lending regulations, and maintaining accurate records. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with customers, real estate professionals, and internal partners, as well as providing timely, clear communication throughout the loan lifecycle. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be expected to contribute to the bank’s community-focused culture by delivering high-quality customer service and supporting outreach activities when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Loan Officer or in a comparable lending role, with a strong understanding of borrower needs and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products.
- Familiarity with underwriting principles and processes, including income analysis, credit evaluation, and collateral assessment.
- Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with mortgage origination software and standard office tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating in person in Edmond, OK and remotely as needed.
- Relevant state mortgage loan originator license (or eligibility to obtain) and adherence to all applicable compliance standards.
- Prior experience in community banking or working with small business and military families is beneficial.
