Job Description
The position of Loan Documentation Specialist is to support the banks’ centralized loan functions by processing and preparing loan documentation for various types of loans with an emphasis on commercial and agricultural. The Loan Documentation Specialist develops an understanding of all regulatory requirements and bank policy related to delivery of our loan products and ensures requirements and policies are followed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Monitor loan files and documents for compliance with regulatory and bank policy and ensure loans are documented as approved through the loan committee.
- Assist with the timely and accurate gathering and review of all information needed to move a loan application through processing, underwriting, and closing.
- Compile support files that are complete and contain all necessary documentation to satisfy regulatory requirements. Works with lenders to obtain needed items and ensure loan files are imaged and indexed in a timely manner.
- Ensure internal and external reporting related to loans is done accurately and timely.
- Promote and maintains a partnership with lenders to be proactive in aiding customers and filling in gaps in customer service.
- Assist loan officers and other bank personnel with proper loan documentation procedures and using the loan software.
- Provide excellent customer service when working with bank employees and customers.
- Handle multiple deadlines and understands the importance of quick turn-around.
- Prepare loan documents as requested by the loan assistant or lender.
- Work closely with the loan assistant and lender for accuracy and supporting loan documents.
- Check back loans once booked on the bank’s system.
- File mortgage and UCC collateral documents and update the bank’s customer database.
- Maintain accurate loan files and records
- Office duties included but not limited to filing documents, balancing and reconciling ledgers, processing loan payments.
- Be organized, have great attention to detail and excel with time management skills.
