Description

A well maintained hotel has a direct positive impact on the guest satisfaction. Therefore Another Star is looking for a solid area maintenance manager who can help us change its maintenance organization from reactive to preventive. A proactive mindset combined with curiosity and strong interpersonal skills are very important elements for this role. The successful candidate has solid people management skills. acts as a problem solver and Their technical experience will help the creation and monitoring of day to day maintenance, minimum out of order rooms and preparing good analysis with the purpose to reduce the amount of incidental interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, proactive leadership across the entire portfolio, ensuring high property maintenance standards, a strong guest experience, and continuous performance improvement through trend analysis and solution driven actions.
  • Leads a high performing team of 8, fostering accountability and delivery against deadlines, improving revenue performance through maintaining high quality properties, minimizing maintenance issues and OOO rooms, and maximizing the use of in house technicians.
  • Oversee and support the West Coast portfolio P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, CapEx planning, and the procurement of operating equipment, ensuring alignment with financial targets through proactive management and cost control.
  • Leverage BMS and FMIS (Planon) to analyze data and identify trends, implement and manage the Multi Year Maintenance Plan, including compliance and PPM, and proactively resolve recurring issues to minimize equipment downtime and operational impact.
  • Lead recurring reporting and meetings, providing clear updates on team performance, OOO rooms, outstanding and ongoing issues, Capex projects, budgets, future initiatives, and KPI targets.
  • Maintain effective relationships with third party contractors (i.e. Aramark), ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
  • Monitor and track the status of project permits, sign-offs and close-outs as it relates to both local city departments & authorities prepare, negotiate and contract Client Supply items
  • Manage and administer all building and MEP related documentation (drawings, instructions, specifications, etc)
  • Work on health and safety to ensure each property complies with relevant health and safety legislation; adhering to the health and safety policy whilst maintaining accurate records of relevant activities
  • Record and report on activities in line with BREEAM / LEED accreditation and Energy Labels

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Leadership experience across multiple sites, with the ability to lead, engage, and inspire high performing remote teams in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and proactively, using trend analysis to drive improvements in overall performance.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate plans, align teams to goals, delegate tasks effectively, and engage with Operations and key stakeholders through reporting and day to day interactions.
  • Proficient financial acumen with the ability to manage P&L, budgets, and financial reporting across OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage agreements with suppliers and third party contractors.
  • Guest focused mindset with a strong understanding of hospitality standards and operational demands.
  • Strong technical background in MEP systems.
  • Solid understanding of Building Management Systems and FMIS platforms, including Planon and Topdesk.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, with the ability to ensure compliance and maintain accurate documentation and procedures.
  • Languages = English. Any other language is considered a plus.

Location / Hours

  • This position will be based in US West Coast
  • This is a full time position. Hybrid working is possible. No fully remote.
  • Travelling: approximately one week per month, with quarterly visit to our NY support office.

Timeline: interviews will start after April 16th.
