SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
A Direct Support Assistant must be able to interact in a positive, friendly, and respectful manner with clients. Must be able to encourage clients to participate in simple recreational activities such as art activities, listening to music, and watching television. Must be able to assist direct support professionals with folding laundry or other small housekeeping tasks.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Assist the Direct Support Professional by interacting with clients in their leisure time.
• Assist clients with recreation.
• Interact with clients and staff in a positive friendly manner.
• Assist with simple grooming activities like hair brushing, nail painting and hand lotion massages.
• Encourage clients to feel comfortable and content.
Assist the Direct Support professional by helping with light duty tasks.
• Assist with light laundry.
• Assist with small housekeeping tasks.
• Assist with bringing supplies to needed staff.
Report problems or concerns.
• Bring concerns to the shift supervisor and or house program manager.
Miscellaneous
• Must follow hand washing protocols.
• Must protect client confidentiality.
• Professionally represent Citizen Advocates, Inc. with families, other organizations and the community.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time/part time position.
Workweek schedule: Monday through Friday.
Hours of work:3p.m. to 7pm p.m.
Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.
