At Citi, the Investor Relations team (IR) is responsible for effectively communicating Citi’s strategy and financial performance to the equity research and institutional investor communities. IR develops and communicates the firm’s financial and strategic messaging to these stakeholders on an ongoing basis to provide an accurate and current understanding of Citi and to ensure that Citi maintains a stable, high-quality investor base and generates interest from new investors. IR accomplishes these goals in several venues including Citi’s quarterly earnings calls, semi-annual fixed income investor review calls, industry conferences and meetings. Additionally, IR works closely with senior management and the Board of Directors to explain the market’s perception of and outlook on Citi to inform strategic decision making.
Role Summary
The Chief of Staff will be a key member of the IR leadership team to help drive the overall team’s strategy and agenda, focus on enhancing operating efficiency, governance, process efficiency and effectiveness of the IR function. The Chief of Staff will partner with the leadership team to ensure alignment and focus on key priorities. In addition, the Chief of Staff will lead special projects for senior leadership, conduct staff meetings, budget and business management, create and track performance indicators and process improvements to various activities such as quarterly earnings. The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor and sounding board to the Head of Investor Relations and IR leadership team, helping to create goals and priorities for the department. This role will act as point of contact for stakeholders throughout the organization to support departmental objectives. The person who takes this role will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to influence at a senior level.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the overall key deliverables for the group, specifically when Head of IR is presenting at internal & external conferences, and leading key initiatives when required by senior management to deliver on the strategic roadmap for IR
- Track progress against the strategic framework and report on key performance measures
- Lead staff meetings and quarterly and annual budget process
- Analyze and synthesize information to make informed decisions
- Manage ad hoc and special projects as directed by the Head of IR
- Support team in key activities related to Earnings, Conferences & Events and Investor Day
- As support to the Head of IR, assist in managing the administrative aspects of the role
- Manages business planning initiatives for IR including team resource planning, Talent and development planning, voice of the employee planning and our diversity and inclusion program
- Support IR leadership with governance, risk, compliance, continuity of business audit, annual business reviews and other related internal processes
- Oversee process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline the team's deliverables as well as development of key metrics and KPIs
Qualifications
- 10 -15 plus years of experience working directly with senior management
- Strong interpersonal and influence management
- Demonstrated process improvement and leadership experience required
- Strategic and project management capabilities coupled with strong analytic and financial acumen
- Discretion and sound judgment
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Logical, analytic and rational thinker
- Strong understanding of banking and financial services industry
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-sensitive deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to learn and work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience / Master’s degree
