The GenAI Application Development Group Manager is focused on leading a team to build and implement cutting-edge AI and machine learning applications. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in AI development, particularly with agentic systems and prompt engineering, and strong leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives and manage a global team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating complex business processes by leveraging advanced AI models and ensuring the successful delivery of revised and new application systems.

The GenAI Application Development Group Manager is focused on leading a team to build and implement cutting-edge AI and machine learning applications. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in AI development, particularly with agentic systems and prompt engineering, and strong leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives and manage a global team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating complex business processes by leveraging advanced AI models and ensuring the successful delivery of revised and new application systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions).
- Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
- Lead the development and implementation of agentic AI systems to string disparate processes together.
- Drive the creation and refinement of AI solutions through expert-level prompt development and logic architecture.
- Oversee the use of AI agents for sophisticated code development and refinement tasks.
- Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the wider Technology Team.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of applications development and AI/ML to achieve established goals and resolve complex issues.
- Provide evaluative judgment based on the analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations, drawing from both internal and external sources.
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations by adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgment.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience in applications development.
- Proven experience in a management capacity, with experience managing global technology teams being highly advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in Python development.
- Deep expertise in Prompt Development and the Logic Architecture of AI systems.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions using Agentic AI.
- A background in Data Engineering is considered a significant plus.
- Working knowledge of current industry practices and standards in technology and AI.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
