Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Controller to oversee the financial management and accounting operations for our growing construction company. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting, job costing, and financial reporting, and will help ensure accurate financial tracking across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, and payroll coordination
- Manage job costing, project budgets, and cost tracking across multiple projects
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
- Monitor project profitability and assist with cost forecasting
- Manage subcontractor payments and lien waivers
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts
- Assist with tax preparation and coordination with CPA
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls
- Support ownership with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
Qualifications
- 5 years accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting
- Strong understanding of construction job costing and project-based accounting
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- CPA or advanced accounting degree preferred but not required
