Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to user community. Strong technical knowledge of SQL, applications supported as well as functional business knowledge.
- Ability to manage small projects.
- Independently work with user department personnel to identify and resolve problems
- Coordinate problem resolution with application software vendor
Essential job functions:
Business Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of the business functions incumbent supports (Examples: Production Accounting, Field Operations, Oil and Gas Accounting or Land)
Analysis and Development
- Design and develop custom solutions following SDLC/PM methodologies to analyze, design, develop, test and deploy solutions
- Work with Manager, Applications to prepare project charters and plans including cost and time estimates necessary to obtain approval for projects
- Analyze existing applications to propose enhancements to application software vendors
- Prepare and assist user personnel to execute test plans
Communications
- Utilize a service desk management system to track support incidents accurately documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutions
- Prepare and deliver concise, accurate status reports. Strong communicator.
- Prepare and deliver thorough Staff Meeting reports depicting summary of overall activities and highlights of assigned projects
- Prepare and deliver discussions on selected topics to corporate wide audiences at COGC Technical Conference and/or Vendor User Conferences
Technical
- 7 Years of experience of MS SQL. (IE: Stored procedures, SSIS Packages, TRS etc.).
- 2 years of PowerBI/Spotfire power user level experience.
- Other programming languages a plus.
Other
- Mentoring Jr. Staff members
- Technology forward thinker. Stay abreast of application offerings impacting the software/department that the incumbent supports
- Attend vendor presentations and user conferences to identify items of benefit to COGC
Project Management
- Prepare, manage and execute project plans for assigned projects.
- Manage Vendor cost and time for assigned projects.
Qualifications:
- 7 years professional experience required
- 5 years of Upstream Oil & Gas application knowledge of Production Accounting and/or Field Operations required
- Analytic thinking that can quickly grasp complex data and process relationships
- Strong desire for collaboration, learning.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL concepts such as views, stored procedures, SSIS packages and SSRS
- Ability to independently prioritize and handle multiple job assignments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with managers and corporate and region personnel
- Basic understanding and able to execute project management concepts
- Ability to manage a small to mid size projects using external resources including scope, effort and cost management
Education:
Four-year degree in Information Systems or Business Administration preferred with minimum of two-year degree required.
Physical Requirements:
This is a hybrid position in the Houston Corporate office. Ability to be in office a minimal of 2 days per week.
Minimal travel potential between Citation field offices.
