Job Overview

A mortgage professional with the ability to listen, respond, persuade, and think for themselves to drive business success. The Closing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all loan settlements of the real estate division retail. The Closing Coordinator has a complete understanding of the mortgage process and experience with retail loan closings. Experience should include scheduling closings, authorizing fundings and preparing loan closing packages. The Closing Coordinator has a working role in day-to-day loan scheduling and coordination with branches and title companies. Confidence and clarity are required for extensive contact with internal and external customers, and service providers as required.

The Closing Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing review and reporting of all workflows for the Closing Team. When files are complete, the Closing Coordinator completes the scheduling and title company coordination on Residential Mortgage loans and Home Equity loans. They will schedule loans for closing, prepare packages when needed for all mortgage loans, including Retail Mortgages and Home Equity loans.

Attention to detail is paramount. Familiarity with residential lending is required and experience in real estate lending is critical. The right candidate must possess enthusiasm and willingness to help members meet their goals. They will be an integral part of a new and growing team dedicated to residential loan sales. Responsibilities

  • Manage all loans workflow from clear-to-close until loan is submitted to loan servicing.
  • Daily review and workflow assignments for Closers and Post Closers.
  • Quality Control files in closing queue.
  • Review and audit loan closing packages for completion and compliance with Federal and State laws to comply with RESPA/TILA Requirements
  • Responsible for reviewing closing queue and coordinating settlements in a timely manner
  • Supervise workflow and correspond with all involved including and especially Title Companies to obtain outstanding closing documentation.
  • Develop ways to improve the overall efficiency of the Quality Control and closing function
  • Develop process improvement for Scheduling, document preparation, and funding authorization.
  • Run and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for QSS and QC across the team.
  • Full understanding of title insurance requirements and engagement as necessary for problem solving
  • Full understanding of loan conditions, closing conditions, and stipulations.
  • Team player approach for processing unit and loan servicing.
  • Review and resolve all member closing service complaints.
  • Establish collaborative relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Understanding of Mortgage lending and the origination process. Knowledge of Fannie Mae, PMI, and Credit Union lending guidelines. Knowledgeable in all TRID and related closing regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years of Closing experience
  • Education equivalent to a 2–4-year college degree, or completion of specialized course of study in business, finance, real estate or other related field or work-related experience
  • Experience with Loan Systems, preferably Encompass
  • Microsoft Office, Encompass, or other mortgage front end system
  • NMLS Registered
