This position is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting commercial doors, gates, frames, fencing components, and fabricated steel products. This role works closely with fabrication, welding, and installation teams to ensure finished products meet company quality standards before delivery or installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal surfaces through grinding, sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming.
- Apply industrial coatings, primers, paints, and finishes using spray equipment, rollers, and brushes.
- Match paint colors and ensure consistent finish quality.
- Inspect finished products for defects, runs, scratches, and imperfections.
- Operate spray booths and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain paint guns, compressors, hoses, and related equipment.
- Follow manufacturer specifications for coating thickness and curing times.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials.
- Maintain inventory of paints, solvents, primers, and painting supplies.
- Keep work areas clean and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Work with production schedules to meet deadlines.
- Perform touch-up painting on fabricated products as needed.
- Support other shop operations when painting workload permits.
- 2 years of industrial, commercial, automotive, or metal painting experience.
- Experience using HVLP or conventional spray equipment.
- Knowledge of primers, epoxies, urethanes, enamels, and industrial coatings.
- Ability to read work orders and follow specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working in a shop environment throughout the day.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience painting commercial doors, gates, structural steel, or fabricated metal products.
- Forklift certification.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
Salary : $20 - $25
