Responsibilities of a Diesel Service Apprentice entail:
- Shadow and assist experienced diesel technicians, learning fundamental repair and maintenance techniques.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and component replacements under supervision.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections on vehicles or equipment to ensure readiness.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper tool care and safety procedures.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to develop knowledge of diesel systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Assist with recordkeeping and documentation of work performed.

Requirements
The requirements to be a Diesel Service Apprentice for CIT Trucks, LLC include:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and DOT medical card
- Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 120 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Willingness and ability to complete training in a timely manner
