Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist I supports Production in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of material, creation of associated paperwork, and assuring accurate and timely inventory input in order to satisfy customer driven production requirements.

Job Duties
  • Inputs, monitors, and retrieves inventory and Work Order (WO) information from the Material Resource Planning (MRP)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Picks orders using an Intemec (RF) scanner and stock merchandise.
  • Ensures containers are marked properly and labeled appropriately.
  • Identifies potential supply problems. Coordinates at the appropriate level to resolve issues.
  • Ensures timely movement of production items to initial internal manufacturing operations and, upon item inspection, moves it to appropriate stocking location.
  • Accurately maintains the material database (QAD) by arranging the correction of errors upon approval by a Program Planner.
  • Ensures Lean 5S processes in all product storage areas assigned to the Production Control group.
  • Assists planners in analyzing and maintaining accurate data to support MRP/ERP.
  • Releases all Heat Treat and Surface Treat WOs for purchase parts that require such treatment before inclusion into stock for consumption.
  • Conducts weekly inventory verification audits of select storage areas and records the results (cycle count).
  • Provides general administrative assistance to planners as required.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.


Experience Requirements
Experience in Materials/Logistics using MRP/ERP systems (QAD) and RF scanners is preferred.

  • Computer aptitude with preferred proven experience using Microsoft Office is preferred.

Forklift use in tight areas (difficult to maneuver).
Weight scales
Microsoft Office.


Working Conditions
Position is performed in a typical manufacturing facility environment with exposure to loud noises, toxic chemicals, and varying temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds unassisted and up to 70 pounds with assistance.
