Job Summary

The Master Scheduler plays a critical role in the Program Management team, directly supporting Product Development projects working closely with cross-functional team members and the program manager to develop and maintain program schedules, identify critical path, and report program KPIs. Additionally, the Project Scheduler will provide training and standardization for all program scheduling activities.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Work with program managers, project engineers, and integrated project team members to develop, integrate, and maintain project schedules
  • Work closely with resource managers and program managers to assign work, identify resource gaps, and critical path items
  • Provides timely reports to communicate upcoming deliverables and resource forecasts
  • Acts as Enterprise administrator for MS Project (PWA) to develop and maintain calendars, lookup tables, resource pools, custom fields, templates, reports, filters, KPIs, user profiles/licenses
  • Trains team members to program management standards and best practices to ensure consistent and compliant schedules across all projects
  • Provides troubleshooting support for MS Project issues
  • Develops and integrates scheduling infrastructure with JIRA, Power BI, or other systems for reporting and/or automated synchronization
  • Authors and maintains scheduling standards
  • Ensures schedule integrity
  • Integrates and applies Earned Value methodology to forecast EAC, FTC and other schedule health metrics (CPI, SPI)
  • Managing project schedules requires extreme attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required.

Qualifications

  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years project scheduling experience in a product development, or engineering environment
  • Minimum 5 years experience with MS Project (Desktop, & Enterprise)
  • Experience with Primavera P6, and/or Deltek OpenPlan (desirable but not required)
  • Experience with resource loaded schedules
  • Thorough understanding of Earned Valued methodology and ability to apply EVM to program schedules and integrate with other systems (JIRA, ERP) to develop program health dashboards
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university. (highly desirable but not required)
  • Project coordination or project management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office Suite including Power BI, and SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
