The Role
The Repair Technician is responsible for efficiently receiving, testing, repairing, and dispositioning Cirrus products. This role involves maintaining a clean and professional workspace, as well as keeping an accurately inventoried and organized cache of replacement parts for both legacy and currently active product lines.

Job Duties
- Prioritize activities independently based on legacy and current product repair inventory, internal and external customer needs, and the queue of returned products awaiting processing.
- Perform diagnostic testing on mechanical and electronic equipment, including but not limited to modules, controllers, frames, and auxiliary components.
- Perform complex board-level repairs utilizing microsoldering techniques to replace surface-mount components (SMDs), integrated circuits (ICs), and repair damaged traces using microscopes and hot air rework stations.
- Repair, scrap, or accept products "as is" after diagnostic testing and root-cause analysis.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Research and obtain necessary equipment specifications, test procedures, diagnostic information, and any required documents and guides for processing.
- Perform equipment hardware and software configurations independently as needed.
- Catalog and inventory all products returned for repair while maintaining a clean, well-organized, and efficient work area.
- Maintain an inventory of standard replacement parts and submit purchase requisitions to ensure minimum inventory levels are stocked.
- Lead standard and project-specific workgroups as needed.
- Follow all safety and ESD procedures to ensure personal and product safety.
- Align performance with assigned KPI goals, both individually and for the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Advanced proficiency in microsoldering techniques, including removing and replacing high-density components (e.g., 0402, 0201 packages) and integrated circuits.

- Ability to provide feedback to department manager on procedure updates or changes, provide routine reports and correspondence.

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and design drawings.
- High school diploma or GED and one to two years related experience and/or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical School.
- IPC-7711/7721 or IPC-J-STD-001 Certification (Microsoldering/Rework Standards).
- OEM approved training for desktops, laptops, PCBAs, point-of-sale equipment, etc..
- Working knowledge of computer programs (ERP) for entering data and tracking inventory.
- Prior PC-related experience is helpful/preferred.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Close visual focus is required, specifically the ability to work with stereomicroscopes for extended periods.
- Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 100 lbs. (Includes high manual dexterity required for handling microscopic components).
