CiresiMorek is engaged to identify a Vice President of Labor Relations for a publicly traded, Fortune 1000 industrial organization (~$2B revenue). This is a high-impact leadership role that directly reports to the CHRO, while partnering with the Executive Leadership Team. We are seeking a hands-on, business-oriented Labor Relations leader who thrives in performance-driven, operational environments and can align talent strategy with business results. The successful candidate will direct and implement immediate and long-range strategic planning for the company in the area of labor relations. This position will manage a large, nationwide department of Labor Relations professionals while representing the company in the negotiations of collective bargaining agreements, regulatory proceedings, and employee grievances. This is a highly visible, high-impact position where a successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a decisive role in the future success and growth of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the collective bargaining strategy and oversee the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements in collaboration with management
- Build relationships with key labor organizations and external representatives
- Evaluate and assist with the effective resolution of grievances and other local conflicts resulting from the labor agreements
- Counsel managers and employees regarding the interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements, as well as the intent, application, and compliance requirements of labor and regulatory laws
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with operations and union leadership to address and resolve issues and proactively implement effective workplace practices
