The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix.About the Role: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts bearings, forklifts, wheel loaders tractors and trailers. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. Responsibilities:Performs repairs in accordance with Company Safety and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirementsPerforms preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, tractors/trailers and building equipmentEstablishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises leadership if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair TimesInspects the quality of third-party repairs and or rebuildsRecommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product qualitySafely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipmentDiagnose defects and repair a variety of equipment and vehiclesEstimate time and materials required to perform major repairsPerforms service calls for emergency breakdownsMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety proceduresPerform other job-related duties as assignedMinimum Job Qualifications:High School diploma or GEDThree (3) or more years of mechanical experienceAbility to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operations and the needs of the facilityPreferred Job Qualifications:Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on equipmentAbility to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company equipmentKnowledge of OSHA and other state and federal regulationsAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external customersDemonstrate continuous effort to improve operation, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer serviceExcellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skillsAbility to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objectsAbility to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standingKnowledge of proper lifting techniquesWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements: Normal work environment is a recycling plant, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required to use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs.Required to engage in physical activity that includes pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects more than 80 pounds.Required to work from ladders or raised platforms.Required to stand or work on concrete floors most of the workday.Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.Circular Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: Circular Services is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
