What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hearing Room Clerk (G-15) position at Circuit Court for Prince George's County?
The incumbent, under the supervision of the Magistrate’s Support Staff Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of clerical support to the Family Division Magistrates. Responsibilities include assisting the magistrates with docket preparation, preparing paperwork for signatures, and entering the magistrate’s findings into the case management system for family law cases, inclusive of Domestic and Child Support matters.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Reviewing case files in preparation for magistrate dockets.
- Drafting appropriate paperwork to include magistrates’ proposed Orders.
- Maintaining electronic audio records using digital recording equipment.
- Taking notes and generating necessary paperwork in accordance with court rulings.
- Updating and processing Proposed Orders of Court for dissemination to attorneys and litigants.
- Preparing disposition sheets for timely distribution to the Office of Calendar Management.
- Ensuring timely and accurate maintenance of electronic case files and audio recordings of magistrates’ proceedings.
- Administering oaths to parties, witnesses, and interpreters.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of court records, hearings, and reports.
- Assisting with other clerical functions when not assigned to the courtroom.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
