What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Drug Court Case Manager (G-21) position at Circuit Court for Prince George's County?
The incumbent is responsible for evaluating a participant's risk level to public safety, assessing their needs and abilities, and developing individualized case management plans for supervision. Additionally, the incumbent will assist clients with identifying various community resources, including services for substance use disorders and mental health.Duties include, but are not limited to:
A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a closely related field, plus one (1) year of counseling experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Working knowledge of basic counseling and interviewing skills and techniques.
• Working knowledge of the physiological and psychological effects of drug addiction.
• Working knowledge of existing referral agencies and community resources.
• Ability to assume responsibility and demonstrate initiative under general supervision.
• Ability to work effectively with clients having substance abuse, emotional, behavioral, or other related problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

- Develops cohesive case plans in collaboration with the Adult Drug Court Team, which include treatment options and reviews of program requirements for successful completion.
- Organizes and oversees substance abuse testing for participants.
- Maintains current and accurate data entries for all program participants, ensuring compliance with system requirements.
- Records weekly case notes and prepares reports for the Court.
- Makes referrals and facilitates access to ancillary services for participants while monitoring their compliance.
- Collaborates with the Adult Drug Court Team to provide rewards and positive reinforcement for treatment progress, as well as to swiftly impose sanctions to motivate compliance.
- Understands, applies, and maintains compliance with all federal and state confidentiality requirements related to medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.
- Monitors program performance by collecting data on participant compliance and assists the Adult Drug Court Coordinator in assessing whether services effectively meet the needs of the participants.
- Ensures timely reports are submitted to the Coordinator.
- Attends all staffing and court sessions and presents summaries of participants.
- Assists the Drug Court Coordinator in organizing family enhancement and community service activities and supervises these activities.
- Assists in facilitating meetings and making presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
