Overview: The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Circuit Attorney. Qualifications: Must be a current member of the Missouri Bar or eligible for licensure in the State of Missouri.
Duties: This position includes handling all aspects of cases involving moderately complex, low-level felonies, including some victim crimes, representing the people of the City of St. Louis, State of Missouri. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Investigation including review of evidence and official reports
· Interviewing and deposing witnesses and victims
· Making charging decisions and drafting charging documents
· Performing legal research and writing memos
· Conducting bond review and detention hearings
· Conducting preliminary and grand jury hearings
· Preparing and answering discovery
· Drafting and arguing motions
· Conducting bench and jury trials
· Conducting sentencing hearings
· Conducting probation revocations hearings
· Frequent court appearances with the highest level of professionalism
· Skillful management of case load
· Provide legal guidance and instruction to junior attorneys
· Participating in continued legal education as required by the Missouri Bar
· Performing other duties as assigned
