Position Summary
The Director of Operations is a champion of the site wide Operations Strategy. He/she will be responsible for partnering with all functions within the business to develop, drive, and implement core business management system. This senior leadership position requires an individual with a proven track record in manufacturing operations, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive process improvements. The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading a team, managing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and working closely with other departments to meet the company's production goals and objectives.
Principal Activities
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
- Monitor expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
- Coordinate the hiring and training of all personnel.
- Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
- Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
- Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets. Analyze workforce requirements.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all employees.
- Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
- Communicate with research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.
- Work with purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships.
- Manage relationships between shared services functions (including global engineering, global sourcing, global business development and support functions i.e. Finance and HR) and global leaders located in the US or in Europe
- Must be superior in customer relations and possess exceptional people skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of operational and or facility management.
- Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement initiatives.
- Support as necessary research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.
- Accountable for the safety of the facility by enforcing established safety and health policies and procedures contributing to promoting employee safety and wellbeing and preventing accidents and working to improve TRIR year over year.

Education & Experience
- A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Management/Operations or other related field. 4 years of progressive experience in key leadership/management roles at a manufacturing facility will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing fast-paced manufacturing operations, including production, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Strong background in process improvement methodologies (ie Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
