Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Early Childhood Contracted Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive health services tailored to young children in our care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental needs are met with professionalism and compassion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic early childhood setting, supporting both children and staff through expert health management.
Duties
1. The nurse consultant visits each infant and toddler classroom 1 time per month. Preferably the visit is on different days and at a different time each month. Visits to each classroom can be made on the same day or on different days, depending upon the nurse’s schedule and preference.
2. The nurse consultant prepares letters regarding needed health physical/immunization records for children who do not have appropriate documents in their files.
3. The nurse consultant completed one Nurse Visit Sheet for each classroom observed. The nurse consultant reviews his/her findings with the Birth to Three Specialist, the Site Director or the director on duty (health physical/immunization letters are given to director at this time). Both sign and date the sheet to document the conversation.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in medical or educational settings
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Excellent caregiver communication skills to collaborate effectively with children’s families and multidisciplinary teams
- Certifications including CPR/BLS, first aid, medication administration training, and HIPAA compliance are required or highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous
