What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Specialist position at Circles of Care, Inc.?
Program Summary:
Mobile-MAT (M-MAT)
The fundamental purpose of M-MAT is to reduce opioid-related harms by increasing access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Combined with counseling and psychosocial support, MAT is considered the gold standard for treating opioid use disorders (OUD), providing a comprehensive and holistic approach to aid individuals on their path toward recovery. It addresses both addiction’s physical and psychological aspects, providing an integrative and multifaceted treatment pathway.
Additionally, the M-MAT unit will be a gateway for individuals seeking any and all services offered by Circles of Care.
By having a mobile clinic positioned at various locations throughout the county, we will expand and enhance access to populations who historically struggled to obtain substance use and behavioral health services. Extending community outreach and providing an integrated, evidence-based solution to underserved individuals with OUD and other behavioral health concerns, Circles of Care intends to (1) increase MAT treatment initiation rates, (2) increase treatment engagement and retention, and (3) provide education and referrals to all levels of care offered at Circles of Care.
