Summary of Position:
Performs all functions relating to payroll and procurement. This position will work with internal customers and external vendors to track, expedite, and provide product quantity and arrival requirements and complete any system and process maintenance as required by management.
Essential duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all employee data relating to payroll.
- Work closely with Human Resources and keep track of updates or changes.
- Work directly with managers to assure timesheet accuracy.
- Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including 403b and HSA deposits.
- Post payroll journal entries to Sage Intacct and prepare payroll accrual.
- Maintain all necessary reports relating to payroll.
- Procures supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with policies and procedures and purchasing contracts.
- Works independently to ensure payroll and procurement are processed according to policy and procedures.
- Obtain quotes on new and existing items to ensure we are receiving the best price available.
- Place purchase orders for goods and services needed and coordinate the return of items to vendors.
- Works closely with the Accounts Payable department to resolve discrepancies and insure timely payment of invoice.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge and Skills:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll and accounting experience. Experience with Paycom, Sage Intacct, and shift differential calculation preferred.
- This position requires a bachelor’s in accounting or 4 years of equivalent.
- Highly proficient in Excel, including use of formulas and other advanced functions.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Medical/Insurance experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Position requires extended periods of sitting and standing.
- Position requires regular bending and reaching.
- Able to focus on work at hand with strong attention to detail.
