What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Medical Assistant (59047) position at CIRCLE THE CITY?
Essential Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Completes the admission paperwork with patient and provider, including the Financial Attestation Form.

Calls the Respite HUC to coordinate admission and call Nurse Manager if the patient requires specific Medication, DME or IV antibiotics
-
Answers all call to the Intake Phone

Attends both the a.m. and p.m. daily Intake Review meeting
-
Acts as backup for the Intake Coordinator for Referrals
-
Helps with scanning at either Respite facility
-
Schedules outpatient post discharge appointments for patients who do not meet admission criteria.

Distributes marketing flyers to facilities with downtime.
-
If all Intake duties are complete, will redeploy to other facilities

Collaborates with the Provider/Nurse throughout each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, as well as communicating the status of delegated task completion and outcome of patient data findings

Maintains timely, ongoing verbal communication in order to assure good care of patients and the effective running of the clinic

Responsible for collecting, collating and entering required data and information into the applicable database or format in an accurate and timely manner

Treats each patient in a manner that preserves and supports patient confidentiality, patient rights, and patient dignity

Assures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment

Assists with copying, faxing and filing as needed

Phone coverage and triage of calls when necessary

Ability and willingness to perform medical assistant duties at other CTC clinic sites

Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge/Skills:
-
Basic knowledge of medical terminology
-
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training course
-
Able to obtain vital signs accurately
-
Ability to use personal computer for recording patient data /history
-
Proficient in reading and writing skills in English
-
Excellent communication and customer service skills
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
-
Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population
Experience
-
1 years of MA experience.
-
High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
-
Experience in a medical environment highly desirable
-
Bi-lingual communicative skills preferred
-
CPR/BLS certification
-
Requires a current Arizona state driver’s license
