Seasonal Production Manager

Position Description: Join our crew for the next 8 weeks for an exciting opportunity to lead our production team. Make between $10,000 and $12,000 (Depending on your start date)Job Overview:Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of seafood processing activities during peak seasons. The production manager will work closely with the plant manager to ensure efficient workflow, maintain quality standards, and meet production targets. Key Duties:Overseeing the daily operations of the production floorScheduling staff shiftsEnsuring that all processes run smoothly and efficientlyMonitoring equipment functionalityTraining new employeesTroubleshooting production issuesMaintaining accurate records of inventory and outputSalmon Processing: Includes Managing a team, performing duties including sorting, weighing, and packing salmon. Including guiding products into automated machinery and cleaning or sanitizing the work area. Other duties may also be assigned.Safety Compliance:Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment, including wearing appropriate safety gear and reporting hazards.Quality Control: Adhere to all sanitation and product quality policies.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of age.Strong communication skills are essentialFamiliarity with industry-specific software and toolsUnderstanding of safety regulations and quality control standards.Able to work in a physically demanding environment on a remote island in Alaska. Must be able to stand and work for long hours in an often wet and cold environment.Must have a basic understanding of English, including the ability to follow written or oral instructions.Ability to operate a forklift a plusAbility to operate power toolsMust be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 poundsWork Environment:This role involves working on your feet for long hours, both indoors and outdoors. Physical activities include lifting ~ 50 lbs, bending, standing, and moving throughout the day.Compensation:We offer competitive wages, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team. This is an hourly position that is eligible for overtime pay. Overtime is 1.5 times the regular hourly rate. Extensive overtime is frequently offered/required with total work days up to 16 hours. At times throughout the season we will be operating and working 7 days a week, workdays vary Sunday through Saturday. Workdays and shift times will vary with seafood deliveries and other factors.Benefits: Housing, Meals, and travel to and from point of hire: SEATAC or ANC $26.00 - $28.00 Hourly
