Director of Compliance - RN

Minimum Requirements: Current RN License in the State of Arkansas. Bachelor's degree in nursing or health related field preferred. Minimum 3 years related experience. Prior experience in a healthcare organization, to include demonstrated leadership. Experience in auditing and project management; experience conducting compliance investigations; extensive report development experience, and policy and procedure development experience; knowledge of statistical data analysis, health care regulatory standards; excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills, experience in public speaking and business presentations; excellent computer and software utilization skills; flexible, motivated by challenges, and creative with problem solving.

Specific Duties And Position Requirements

• Works with CEO to ensure that the organization and staff members operate in compliance with federal and state regulations as well as Circle of Life policy and procedures.
• Continually reviews and assesses new and revised regulatory requirements and communicates these in order to ensure ongoing compliance within the organization.
• Conducts ongoing identification of the hospice program's strengths and weaknesses to determine areas in need of improvement, working with all departments to identify and monitor areas that are high-volume, high-risk, and problem-prone
• Works as part of the leadership team to help ensure organizational excellence.
• Works to continually assess, monitor and improve quality of care and services, in a manner that is data-driven and in accordance with quality improvement principles and models such as PDSA
• Recommends performance improvement plans and activities to appropriate leadership based on data collection and audit findings.
• Participates in performance improvement activities to drive improvement and chairs the QAPI and Compliance Committee.
• Works with the EMR vendor and the organization's EMR lead to ensure EMR functionality and workflow adheres to regulatory and quality standards.
• Ensures timely and effective response to all official CMS contractor and other audit requests and oversees appeals as needed.
• Maintains enrollment in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and oversees the organization's survey/accreditation process for CMS certification.
• Oversees publicly reported hospice quality measures submissions, generates reports, monitors the data for improvement, and works with other leaders and staff to make improvements when warranted.
• Physician credentialing and Privileging: Maintains oversight for new and existing physician credentialing and privileging requirements. Ensures that all physician files contain required documentation per regulatory bodies and that this information is updated every two years, or otherwise as required.
• Policies and Procedures: Ensures that annual reviews and updates of policies and procedures occur in order to remain in compliance with federal and state regulations, in addition to the needs and priorities of the organization.
• Contract Management: Maintains all contracts for the organization, ensures regular review and approval, and compliance with regulations.
• Orientation and education: Participation in orientation, and staff education regarding Compliance, QAPI, and HIPAA.
• Represents Circle of Life to the community in a positive manner.
• Demonstrates flexibility, versatility and a positive attitude in integrating additional duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
