What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Representative - Grand Rapids, MI position at Circle Logistics, Inc?
Circle Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) firm focused on delivering three core promises to our customers:
Job Description
Ever wonder how a pallet of sneakers gets from a warehouse in Ohio to a store shelf in Phoenix — overnight? That’s us. You’ll be the person making it happen: managing real shipments, solving real problems, and learning how a multi-trillion-dollar industry actually works. No coffee runs. No busywork. Just real responsibility from day one.
Move Freight. Actually.
You’ll own shipments from pickup to delivery — tracking loads in real time, jumping in when things go sideways, and making sure drivers and dispatchers have what they need. Think of it like air traffic control, but for trucks.
You’ll become the person everyone relies on for accurate info. If you’re detail-oriented, this is where you’ll shine.
You’ll talk to carriers, drivers, account managers, and customers — often all at once. Clear communication isn’t a soft skill here, it’s how things get done.
This is where it gets interesting. You’ll learn how to bid on live spot freight, understand why rates go up when it snows in the Midwest, and start building relationships with carriers. It’s sales, economics, and logistics all in one — and it’s a direct path to a high-earning career.

- Support the coordination and execution of shipments from pickup through delivery
- Monitor load progress and communicate updates, delays, or issues as needed
- Assist in resolving service issues quickly and professionally
You’ll become the person everyone relies on for accurate info. If you’re detail-oriented, this is where you’ll shine.
- Enter and update load details in internal systems, including Transport Pro
- Maintain accuracy across customer portals and tracking tools
- Ensure all shipment documentation is complete and organized
You’ll talk to carriers, drivers, account managers, and customers — often all at once. Clear communication isn’t a soft skill here, it’s how things get done.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution
- Partner with Carrier Sales and Account Management to support customer needs
- Provide timely, clear updates to all stakeholders
This is where it gets interesting. You’ll learn how to bid on live spot freight, understand why rates go up when it snows in the Midwest, and start building relationships with carriers. It’s sales, economics, and logistics all in one — and it’s a direct path to a high-earning career.
- Learn how to bid on spot freight and understand market pricing
- Assist in sourcing and vetting carriers to cover loads
- Gain exposure to rate negotiation and carrier relationship management
- Develop knowledge of freight lanes, capacity, and market trends
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree? Even better)
- Eyes like a hawk for details — because one typo in a load number can send a pallet to the wrong state
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball in a fast-paced environment
- Communication skills that actually work — both in writing and face-to-face (you'll need them when talking to drivers, carriers, and customers simultaneously)
- Comfort navigating Google Suite and other digital tools
- A solid work ethic, reliability you can count on, and a genuine team-player attitude
This role offers a clear path into Carrier Sales or Account Management, providing hands-on experience in both operational execution and revenue-driving activities within the business.
