Since its founding in 2013, Circle has acquired and developed over 9.7 million square feet of industrial real estate and is currently investing its second value-add, discretionary fund.
Role Description
We are looking to fill an open Controller role at Circle Industrial, that will report to senior management. The ideal candidate will have progressive accounting and finance experience at a national public accounting firm, in private industry, or a mix of both, preferably with experience in audit and the real estate or asset management industries. The Controller will be responsible for all accounting functions at Circle Industrial, and will work closely with the CEO and CIO, as well as the property management, acquisition/disposition, legal, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for all accounting functions at Circle Industrial
• Coordination, preparation, and review of financial statements, including quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements required for funds and partnerships
• Preparation and review of investor capital calls and distributions
• Oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Ensure timely completion of audits and tax filings, and serve as primary point of contact for external auditors and tax providers
• Ongoing monitoring of the financial position and cash flow of investment funds, management entities, and properties
• Communication with lenders and investors, and preparation of reporting materials
• Review and ensure the accuracy of fee and promote calculations in accordance with the relevant governing documents
• Serve as primary point of contact for banking relationships
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, with a major in accounting or finance
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or private industry, preferably in the real estate or asset management industries
• CPA preferred, not required
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience with audits, real estate fund structures and fair value GAAP accounting
• Experience with Yardi Voyager
