What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fine Dining Server position at Circa 1886?
Circa 1886 regularly ranks among the finest restaurants in downtown Charleston and we are looking for a fine dining server to join our team. The right candidate for this position will have prior fine dining experience; be professional, friendly, and well spoken; and be committed to maintaining our standard of excellence. This full-time position involves a combination of server and server assistant shifts.
Circa 1886 is open Monday - Saturday and is closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Benefits for full time employees include medical, dental and vision insurance after 60 days. Free parking is available.
Responsibilities:
- Take reservations using Open Table
- Be knowledgeable about the preparation and ingredients of every selection on the menu
- Be knowledgeable about wine to better assist guests as they navigate the wine list
- Clean areas of the restaurant: dining rooms, patio, and bathrooms
- Closeout duties to include: cleaning side work, polishing of silver and glassware, closeout paperwork, re-setting of full dining room and other duties as assigned by manager
The server will report directly to the Restaurant Manager. In the absence of the Restaurant Manager, the server takes direction from the Office Manager and/or Assistant Manager
Requirements:
- Prior experience in fine dining service
- Familiarity with Aloha Point of Sale System
- Must have full availability including weeknights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have general knowledge of the Charleston area to assist guests with directions and recommendations
- Must be able to stand for up to 9 hours per shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
- Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with the Health Department Standards for Food Service Employees
- Must have the ability to work as a team with a fluid result
