Senior Utility General Foreman

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Utility General Foreman to oversee and coordinate utility construction and maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of utility construction and maintenance crews
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Plan and organize work schedules, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity
• Monitor work progress and provide technical guidance and support to team members
• Conduct safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and promote a safety-first culture
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project specifications and deadlines
• Maintain accurate documentation of work activities, safety reports, and project records
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize delays and costs
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Proven experience as a utility foreman or supervisor in utility construction or maintenance
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, construction methods, and safety regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
• Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment or materials
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions

• High School diploma or GED required; advanced education (preferred).
• Three or more years of construction management and/or electrical experience (preferred).
• NFPA 70E Certification (preferred).
• Familiar with OSHA regulations (required), OSHA training and certifications (preferred), employer-provided training available.
• Must have valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to work long and/or extended hours to include weekends, as needed, with ability to travel full time.
• Familiar with local codes, AHJ standards, and NEC code.
• Understands how to read and interpret plans, and specifications.
• Effective time management skills, understands how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas, see and hear naturally or with correction.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
• Requires repetitive movement.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Typical construction site environment
• Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions.
• Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
• Work around hazardous equipment.
