Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team in supporting complex database development and management efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL development, database performance tuning, and the ability to work collaboratively with developers, users, and customers. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and a passion for building and maintaining efficient, secure, and high-performing database environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop SQL and PL/SQL code to support backend reporting and custom database functionality.
• Create and maintain scripts to automate database management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure optimal functionality.
• Design, optimize, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and complex queries in support of application development.
• Maintain and update database schemas, designs, and data structures across development environments.
• Collaborate with application developers, users, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
• Serve as a technical SME on data ingestion and transformation from external sources, including file systems.
• Perform routine database maintenance activities including patching, backups, restores, and security audits.
• Ensure compliance with data security policies and best practices.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and development standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in database development and administration.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands-on experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and custom scripts.
• Strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ingesting and transforming data from external sources.
• Familiarity with database design principles and schema management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise database systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices as they relate to database integration.
• Knowledge of data modeling tools and version control systems.
