This position will emphasize scientific problem-solving, research, modeling, and experimentation rather than traditional data visualization and business analytics.
Responsibilities
- Apply data science, statistical, and computational methods to complex scientific and technical problems.
- Develop and validate statistical, predictive, and scientific models.
- Analyze complex datasets to support research, experimentation, and technical decision-making.
- Support modeling and simulation efforts and scientific research activities.
- Develop data-driven methodologies and algorithms to address technical challenges.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, analysts, and other technical personnel.
- Document technical approaches, methodologies, findings, and results.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, a physical science, or related field.
- 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong background in data science, statistics, scientific computing, modeling, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with Python, R, MATLAB, or similar programming and data science tools.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a technical team.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
