Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support complex data initiatives, including ETL development, large-scale data migrations, and high-performance data processing in a mission-driven environment. This role will work closely with engineering and analytics teams to design, build, and optimize data pipelines supporting critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows
- Lead and support data migration efforts across enterprise systems
- Develop and optimize data processing solutions using Apache Spark
- Work with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Write and maintain backend services and data integrations using Java
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system modernization efforts
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and document data solutions in secure environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong experience with ETL processes and data migration
- Proficiency in Java
- Exprience with: NIFI, AWS, Spark / Scala, SQL / PLSQL, Linux, Nice:Agile, maven, Gitlab
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Experience using Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
- Active Top Secret security clearance (required at time of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD or federal programs
- Familiarity with large, complex data environments and legacy system modernization
