Summary:
Responsible for programming using MasterCam, creating and editing cutter paths, setting up and operating CNC machines, reading blueprints, and performing precision measurements. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts according to customer specifications and requires a strong understanding of CNC technology and lean manufacturing principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines to produce complex parts and components
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Conduct precision measurements using micrometers and other measuring instruments
- Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) and other advanced manufacturing processes
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to complete tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines and equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Weld components together as needed
- Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CNC machining, including experience with Micrometer and Precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with CAM programming and Electrical discharge machining
- Strong background in Manufacturing and Lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of Mastercam software is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and work with CNC equipment efficiently
Experience:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a related field
- Strong understanding of CNC technology and programming
- Experience with lathe machines and other CNC equipment
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and blueprints
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and materials
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) and other advanced manufacturing processes is a plus
