What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leave Replacement for Special Education MD Teacher position at Cinnaminson Township Public Schools?
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill in as a Leave Replacement for a Special Education MD Teacher at New Albany Elementary School. This is a temporary position that will require the candidate to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for working with students with special needs.
- This leave will begin on or about April 28, 2025, with an anticipated end on June 18, 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group instruction to students with special needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other special education staff to ensure students receive appropriate support
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Attend IEP meetings and other meetings related to student progress and services
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in special education
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
- Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
